ESTA members have reported on 154 local journeys made by train or bus  during October, as part of our annual survey. Trains that arrived late did so by an average of 7 minutes and buses by an average of just over 5 minutes - very similar to figures in our 2017 survey.

However, everyone needing to connect between train and bus was able to do so and of 32 connections between trains at Ipswich or Norwich, only 4 caused any problems.

The survey findings have been sent to train and bus operators and political decision-makers.

ESTA welcomes  the introduction of through train and bus ticketing to Leiston and Aldeburgh  and will do its best to promote these.  Meanwhile, we continue to publicise bus/train co-ordination to Southwold through our leaflet "Discover the Blyth Valley".

Saxmundham station: following ESTA's suggestion, two seats have been moved  under the canopy.  ESTA took part in a site meeting in November to hear about plans for rebuilding the station.

ESTA is delighted that Suffolk County Council has now erected a bus shelter and timetable for westbound buses at Carlton Crown, on the A146 between Lowestoft and Beccles. We had called for improvements here for a number of years. Funding for this site has come from Carlton Colville Town Council.
